Lori K. Ostlie is Senior Counsel with Alvarez, Thompson & Smoak, P.A. Her practice is focused on complex civil litigation involving personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, and general insurance defense, with a particular emphasis on commercial transportation defense and commercial premises litigation. With more than 30 years of litigation and trial experience, Lori has represented commercial carriers, commercial property owners, business owners, and individuals in a wide range of personal injury and wrongful death matters.
Prior to joining Alvarez, Thompson & Smoak, P.A., Lori practiced in South Florida for more than a decade, where she handled litigation involving medical malpractice, wrongful death, premises liability, commercial transportation, and general insurance defense. After relocating to Central Florida, she continued to focus her practice on defending clients in personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, and insurance defense claims.
Lori earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida in 1992 and received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in 1996.
She has been licensed to practice in all Florida state courts since 1996 and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Lori is a member of the Orange County Bar Association.
A native Floridian, Lori was born and raised in Miami and remains a devoted University of Florida Gators fan. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, horseback riding, and participating in activities with the Misty Morning Hounds Drag Foxhunting Club. She also enjoys spending time with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and her Quarter Horse, Finn.
